About Jeffrey L. Katz, DDS
Dr. Katz grew up in New York State. He earned an undergraduate degree from the Ohio State University. Upon graduation he was accepted at Georgetown University School of Dentistry. After graduation, Dr Katz returned to New York where he completed an internship program at Mt. Sinai Hospital. The program focused on inpatient and outpatient dentistry, trauma and medical emergencies. Dr. Katz then moved to San Francisco and accepted a teaching position at the UCSF School of Dentistry. Desiring to be in private practice, he retired from his full time faculty position after 4 years and became an Associate of Dr. Phillip Corin. Dr. Corin became a friend and a mentor and introduced Dr. Katz to many of the fundamental concepts in dentistry that relate to full mouth rehabilitation and reconstruction. When Dr. Corin retired, Dr. Katz successfully transitioned as the primary provider and practice owner, carrying on the concepts and traditions that Dr. Corin spent much of his life developing.
Through the years, Dr. Jeff Katz has continued to focus on his passion for excellence, precision and practicality . Always keeping in mind fundamental concepts, he has incorporated into his practice of dentistry the latest technologies; such as digital CAD/CAM restorations and 3D Dental Implant treatment planning and Guided Surgery. Dr. Katz has been a long standing member of the Laguna Beach Gnathological Study Group. He has also been a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the International Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the CEREC CADCAM study group. He is associated with the IDEA Institute, headed by Dr. Robert Lamb and Dr. Heike Kramer. The Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy, located in Foster City, California is one of the world’s leading teaching and conference centers, bringing together the finest minds in Dentistry and Dental Technology.
When Dr Katz does find time outside of dentistry, he enjoys being with his family, his wife, daughter and friends. He enjoys skiing, swimming and hiking. Food and Wine have been passions that have led Dr. Katz to local restaurant kitchens in San Francisco, where he has been seen over the years along side chefs apprenticing and cooking with them.
